STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Staten Island senior living facility has found another case of Legionella bacteria in one of its buildings, the Advance learned Friday.
Management for The Brielle at Seaview wrote to residents to inform them a person staying in its assisted-living building had tested positive for the bacteria after being admitted to the hospital for an unrelated condition.
The Advance has been aware of The Brielle’s Legionella problems since at least 2016. Last October a person staying at Thr Brille was diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease. Management has been working with the city Department of Health and Mental Hygiene on a fix.
