“We have a cumulative of 15 dead, but in the last three months we have not registered any,” said Anastácia Lidimba, provincial director of Public Health in Cabo Delgado. The province of Cabo Delgado has so far registered a total of 893 cases of cholera, mainly in regions that were affected by bad weather during the 2019/2020 rainy season in Mozambique. In February, the Mozambican government announced that the outbreak was “almost under control”, having opened three isolation and treatment centers, as part of strategies to halt the spread of the disease in the province.
